The rope push-down proved 74 percent as effective as these push-ups in targeting all three heads of the triceps.
Using the rope instead of the straight bar changes the position of the hands during the pushdown (final end of the rep). The knuckles face out instead of up which directs more of the work of the pushdown towards the lateral head of the tricep at the outside of the arm.
